Job Title: Market Garden Farm Hand
Hours: Part time, 24-30 hours weekly.
Schedule: Tuesday 8-4, Wednesday 8-4, Thursday 8-4**
**Thursday Schedule adjusts to 1-8PM from June 27th-August 15th
Employment Period: Position begins May 1st and runs through at least October 31st. Strong candidates may extend this employment period.
Compensation:
-Competitive hourly wage based upon experience
-$100 gear stipend after 4 weeks of employment
-Free produce weekly for personal use
-20% off retail price of meat for personal use
-Percentage of tips from prepared food outlet
Location:
This position will be preformed at our Market Garden location in Greenfield, NH. This position also includes 8 weeks of Farmers Market work in Hancock, NH.
Training:
Employee will receive on the job training in all tasks associated with the job to the specifications and standards of Backfire Farm.
Job Summary
The Market Garden Farm Hand will preform tasks related to the planting, growing, cultivating, harvesting and sales of our produce from our market garden. Candidates should expect to work outdoors in all weather conditions for the hours stipulated. Tasks may include but are not limited to weeding, transplanting, harvesting, washing, spreading compost, setting up farmers market booth, and taking transactions.While experience is not required for this position, preference is given to individuals with a strong interest in organic, no-till agriculture and those with prior outdoor work experience.
Minimum Requirements

-Ability to stand for duration of shift
-Ability to lift 50lbs
-Strong attention to detail
-Ability to take direction
-Ability to conduct sales related customer service at Farmers Market

Job Title: Food Truck Team Member
Hours: Part Time, 16 Hours
Schedule: Friday and Saturday, start and end times negotiable
Employment Period: Candidate should expect to begin during first week of May

This position will be preformed at our food truck location in Peterborough, NH.

Employee will receive on the job training in all tasks associated with the job to the specifications and standards of Backfire Farm.
Job Summary
The Food Truck Team Member position will perform all tasks related to the preparation of produce, meat and other ingredients for our wood fired food truck operations. Tasks include but are not limited to starting wood fired oven, preparing produce and meat, washing dishes. Kitchen experience is required for this position, including safe food handling practices, knife skills and ability to follow prep lists provided to candidate.
Please note upward mobility is available.
